The Amateur Photographer
The difficulties suffered by Edmund (Ned) as he dealt with the new technology of photography are graphically displayed in the cartoons. Ned had to cope with the long exposures needed and also with his impatient subjects.
However his successes were celebrated as illustrated in the triumphant Rawson brothers executing a jig outside the dark room when the glass plate negatives had been developed.
