The Dining Room
These drawings of the interior of The Hollow depict the pride the Rawsons took in their surroundings.
Charles was as pleased as punch with his varnishing of the new dining room, boasting that the old masters couldn’t possibly surpass his ability.
There is an element of humour in the sketches where Harry and Charles are shown in a haze of cigar smoke in the newly painted room.

‘If you want to see a “work of art” old lady, one that Corregio himself couldn’t hold a candle to! Just come and & look at your new dining room!’ Charley finished varnishing the dining room. Voysey fitting up some of the rooms – Where is Harry all this time?
